HOLOCAUST REMEMBRANCE

Sunday, April 11th is Yom Hashoah—Holocaust Remembrance Day.  In preparation and observance, the Children’s Museum of Mishawaka will have a special display on the children of the Holocaust.  On Monday April 12th from 10:00 to 3:00 p.m., there will be the annual reading of the names of victims in the County Courthouse in downtown South Bend.  Pastor Bill will once again participate.

CHURCH TOUR

The United Religious Community of St. Joseph County (URC) is sponsoring a wonderful tour of historic churches in the downtown South Bend area on Saturday, April 17th from 9:30 to noon.  The Tour will begin at First Presbyterian Church on west Colfax and continue to St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, and the Episcopal Cathedral of St. James.  A bus will carry participants or, if you’re able and the weather is nice, you can easily walk the Tour.  The event is free of charge and will be led by Donald Sporleder, architect and member of the URC Board of Directors.  You’ll want to be a part of this event.  There is so much history in our area’s faith communities!

CONGREGATIONAL MEETING

On Sunday, May 2nd following the morning worship service, we will have an important Congregational Meeting.  At that meeting, the Trustees will share a list of needed building improvements and repairs.  The proposed list will be accompanied by bids to get them done.  We have put some projects on hold for some years now, and they need to be addressed and resolved.  Please be with us and support our efforts to maintain our facilities!

PRAYER BREAKFAST

The URC will host its’ Annual Prayer Breakfast on Thursday, May 6th at 7:30 a.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn.  Pastor Bill, also Executive Director of the URC, will give the message “Sharing at God’s Table” and CROP Walk proceeds will be given out to area pantries.   In addition, several will be honored with Hearts Afire awards.  As in year’s past, St. Peter’s will purchase a table and will have 3-4 seats available for our members. Please let Pastor Bill know ASAP if you are interested in attending.

OUR 150TH ANNIVERSARY

Believe it or not, in the year 2013 St. Peter’s will celebrate our 150th Anniversary as a church!  In preparation for that, and to fill a long-vacant position in our leadership, we are looking for a Church Historian.  There are people willing to help you collect and organize our records.  Please give prayerful consideration to this important calling!
